OUR STORY

Hola Locas! Welcome to Locas Only, a travel community designed by and for women, where we believe in embracing life to its fullest through crazy adventures and mindful practices.
 

But how did this crazy idea become a reality in the first place? Let me tell you a story:
 

In late 2022, I had the most life-changing experience of my 30 years in this world. I was diagnosed with a tumor in my vocal cords, which forced me to be in absolute silence for 5+ months. Of course this was plenty of time to really get to know myself on a deeper level, to understand what moves me and what I want to give to this world. Realising that life can be taken away from you any day, and that it’s also too short to waste it doing anything that doesn’t ignite your soul. 
 

So I asked myself… “What ignites mine?” The answer was very simple for me: Outdoors adventures. Yoga. And people. It’s always about the people for me at the end of the day.
 

I was in Peru during my healing process, in complete silence, when I had the realisation that my incredible home country encapsulates these two things that spark my spirit. On one hand, it is one of the most biodiverse countries in the entire world, having all the ecosystems to go on epic adventures out in nature. From hiking in the majestic Andes mountains, to surfing world class waves, to jungle biking in the Amazon and more! 
 

Needless to say all these peaceful settings are perfect for anything related to Yoga and mindful practices - the tools that kept me grounded, positive and hopeful during the hard times I had to face with my health.
 

On the other hand, Peru has one of the richest, most amazing cultures in the world reflected on its genuine, kind-hearted people, who will always make you feel welcome and at home no matter where you come from.
 

“This is it!” I remember thinking. “I need to bring all the Locas to Peru, guide them and provide them with the best experience of their life!”
 

And, well, you know… the rest is history ;)
